About us

Trimdon Grange Banner Association was set up to advance the education of the residents of Trimdon Grange and the surrounding villages of the mining heritage of our area in particular but not exclusive by the preservation and display of the Miners lodge banner, the production of a replica banner and the production of a community banner with the provision and participation of community workshops and activities.

The banner is removed from its display case on the day of Durham miners gala where it is taken around Trimdon Grange, led by Harrogate Brass Band and then taken into Durham.

We would just like to say a big thank you to all the community, various trusts, local businesses, organisations, individuals who have helped Trimdon Grange Banner Associaiton throught the year.

We really appreciate the help in "keeping our mining heritage alive".

**Durham miners gala - saturday 10th july 2010**

Trimdon Grange Banner Association are preparing for Durham Miners Gala, Saturday 10^th July 2010. Are you thinking about going and having a family day out?

If you are why don’t you come along with TGBA and celebrate this special event, leave your cars at home and avoid the parking hassle.

Harrowgate Brass Band is booked and will lead the procession through Trimdon Grange, with Trimdon Grange Banner starting at 7.20 a.m. from Galbraith Terrace then front street, turning in at St Albans church and along South View then Beech Grove. Return Journey from Durham City, turning in at St Albans Church, along South View, Beech Grove, down to Alnwick Avenue, Redesdale Court and Trimdon Grange Community Centre.

We welcome everyone to support their community and come along and follow Trimdon Grange Banner into Durham, “Keeping our Heritage Alive” and enjoy the community spirit

Coaches are booked leaving Trimdon Grange (Beech Grove) at 7.50a.m. and departing Durham at 5p.m after which we will once more march around Trimdon Grange finishing at the Dovecote where there will be a free buffet for all. The coach fare is £3.00 each person. We welcome everyone to join in and experience the enjoyment of the event
